The spices used in the chai tea are really beneficial to the digestive system, thanks to its good antiinflamatory power. This sweet potato chai is a variant of this typical drink that will provide us with antioxidants, such as beta-carotene; which will protect the skin from aging and prevent the appearance of wrinkles. It will also make us feel warm.
Here goes the recipe
1 tablespoon of cooked sweet potato
1 teaspoon spice mix: cloves, ginger, cinnamon and cardamom
1 date (optional)
1 cup of vegetable drink
1 tablespoon of black, green or rooibos tea
Heat the vegetable milk, together with the date and chosen tea, remove from heat when boiling.
Strain the mixture and pass through the blender together with a pinch of the spice mix on top.
(Sweet potato could be also replaced by pumpkin)
